Pursuit of wrestling

Post by Docger »

For academically gifted high school wrestlers who would like to take wrestling to the limit, Cornell can and does pitch opportunity. As it stands presently there are a number of former and present wrestlers who have trained under the big red banner that qualify for the Olympic face offs. Names include Vito, Yianni, Meyer , Kyle, Max. Not to mention present coach Gwiz. Interesting that both Yianni and Meyer will compete in the same weight class.
And then there are head coaches elsewhere that have had Cornell affiliations in Missouri, Northern Colorado , South Dakota State and North Carolina.

I hope the non wrestling craziness having to do with anti-semitism amongst elite institutions had no chilling effect on some participants. The actions and rhetoric of President Pollack are certainly not in the same class as the three who testified on front of the House.
All in all Cornell has a great place at the table for the serious person who wants to incorporate wrestling in his career. I say “his” for now but gender may not play a role in the future.
