2023 Recruiting Class
Re: 2023 Recruiting Class
Daniel Cardenas is not related to Jacob Cardenas.
Re: 2023 Recruiting Class
Mike Dellagatta of St. Joseph's Regional in New Jersey gave his commitment to Cornell today.
Flo has him as the #28 overall recruit in the Class of 2023, Matscouts has him at #78.
He was 4th in NJ as a freshman at 145 pounds
3rd in NJ as a soph at 170
3rd in NJ as a junior at 175
Handed top 10 overall recruit in 2023, Rocco Welsh of PA, his only loss of the high school season, 6-3, at the Powerade tournament
He's been projected as a 184 or 197 and is another great addition to the Big Red.

Good to hear!!!
Thanks !
Thanks !
Re: 2023 Recruiting Class
Dellagatta has another year of HS. He looks good. Looking even better is a freshman named Harvey Ludington. He will have a strong recruitment when his time comes.
Re: 2023 Recruiting Class
I was just scanning through twitter and it looks like Cornell got a commitment from Aiden Compton - a heavyweight from Pennsylvania. Does anyone have any info on his ranking on the recruiting sites?
Re: 2023 Recruiting Class
Best I could find was taking 5th at the 2021 U16 Nationals at 285. That's a big boy at that age!

Pretty quick for a "husky" kid.
Re: 2023 Recruiting Class
He’s not in the rankings. He didn’t wrestle last year. I believe his last competition was when he was an All-American at Fargo.
He transferred after his soph year to Notre Dame Green Pond (same school as Brett Ungar) and PIAA ruled him eligible for football but ineligible for wrestling last year
He was All-state on the offensive line in football and is listed at 6-2, 270. Looking forward to seeing him wrestling again this year.
