Fargo

Three Big Red recruits:

126: Nico Provo (10-0 VSU :17, 10-0 VSU :28, 10-0 VSU 2:22) (note: Princeton's higher ranked Dean Peterson lost his first round)
152: Erik Gibson (10-0 VSU :48, VFA :24, 14-3 VSU1 5:19)
170: Evan Canoyer (10-0 VSU 1:06, 10-0 VSU :54, VSU 10-0 :42)

All on to the round of 16 (yes, they've wrestled three matches to get to R16).

There's a Yapoujian from Colorado there, too, at 132. Managed to go the whole six minutes against the best wrestler (Bouzakis) in the tournament.

Griffin down 8-0 after one period comes back with a feet to back throw that almost led to a fall then two more takedowns, with the winning move coming with under 10 seconds left. Gritty win.

Bad news first:

Provo loses 5-4
Griffin loses 10-6
Fernandez loses 14-4
Yapoujian knocked out of wrestlebacks.

Gibson goes down 8-0, storms back to win 10-8. Need to rewatch because i really thought his opponent got 4 turns and Gibson got a lucky whistle before being turned again. Rough par terre sequence after getting taken down on an early counter but otherwise dominated the match.

Canoyer with a 10-0 tech in about a minute. Blow out.

Provo went 3-1 in wrestlebacks. He will wrestle for 7th.
Fernandez went 1-1 in wrestlebacks.
Griffin went 2-1 in wrestlebacks.

Canoyer lost in the QF 17-6 then lost again in the consolation bracket when he got caught on his back trying for the final turn in a 10-0 tech and instead got pinned (like the Gabe-Lujan match).

Gibson won his QF then lost in the SF. Got teched in the consi semi and will wrestle for 5th.
