Re: NC State, Appalachian State

As regards the above : At the beginning of the year , there was some questions on which weight Shapiro might go - 149 or 157.
Wonder what/who decided the 157.
Foca is not listed on the Senior Day celebration.
If back next year , will he stay at 184 ?
Seems 174 last year was his groove.

Re: NC State, Appalachian State

Cardenas lost to him in free but beat him in folk
Cardenas lost to Teemer recently in ASU match.
The PSU kid is ranked 1 and undefeated
Should be an interesting weight at the tournament.

Re: NC State, Appalachian State

Except one assumes that Foca weighs 184. If he weighs 180, he could get under the 174 limit in 3 weeks. You cannot use the baseline each week as the percentage lost but must use the weight after week 1 and then the weight after weeks 2, etc. So 180 minus 0.015 =2.7 or 177.3 x 0.015 =2.66 or 174.6 x ...

Head Wrestling Coaches Salaries

This topic may have been covered previously and others on this forum have more knowledge . It is hard to find the salaries of Ivy League head coaches . Supposedly Princeton and Harvard pay the most and Dartmouth pays the least . The numbers vary between 46 and 82K Contrast that to salaries of wrestl...

Re: NC State, Appalachian State

Be lucky to win vs Lehigh and probably should stick with EIWA opponents rather than be embarrassed with the biggies. Seriously? You're ready to call it quits already? Maybe you think Cornell should just move down to D2? :P Nope….. just look who is leaving and who from Spartan Combat is coming in. 2...

Re: NC State, Appalachian State

My take: NCST is a better all around team and the outcome was pretty much predictable . Probably 4 matches instead of 3 or perhaps 5 with Vito and doubtful Vince adding a win . NCST got a tech and a major their 7 wins. Cornell got 3 decisions. Foca is a 174. His last few matches have shown that and ...

Re: NC State, Appalachian State

I was thinking more of the Iowa State match in which starters were out at 125, 133, 157 and 165. Granted 4/10 is less than half but it is close. I have not kept a diary but it seems over the past years this year has more injuries . Even with Yianni and Vito. And yes I know Yianni won his first NCAA ...

Re: NC State, Appalachian State

Statistics annd injuries are part of every sport . I wonder if there is a statistic on wrestling teams with the most injuries leading to lineup considerations.

Re: NC State, Appalachian State

Of course Mike knows best and has his wrestlers’ best interest always in mind. Perhaps I am mistaken that injuries are more likely to occur when facing top opponents in a heavy weighted schedule. In the matches I have seen in which one wrestler dominates , that wrestler usually does not get injured....
